Jeff Manion (jeffmanion.org) is the senior teaching pastor of Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he has served for 30 years and is the author of The Land Between. His great joy is digging deeply into Scripture and passionately teaching the story of the Bible in a clear and relevant way. He and his wife, Chris, have three adult children.

Profound yet practical

I liked that the author spoke from the heart with honesty that compelled me to take a look at my own heart and life. What in my life is occupying that space that Jesus should fill? Am I willing to give more than I am right now, or am I thinking of my future possible mishaps as a way to store up more for myself rather than help meet the immediate needs of others? The author reminds us that God is the reason we even have what we have. As we give, God provides in order for us to continue giving. We just need to trust Him. I would recommend this as a small group study especially now before the fall holidays. "Satisfied" will remind us to be even more grateful for all that we are blessed with. It will urge us to bless others as a service to our Blessed and Holy Father who richly provides for us out of His abundance. Discussion sections have real life applications that we can implement as we journey toward a satisfied life. Thank you!

This study started strong and then fell off pretty dramatically. The teaching and "assignment" for week 1 were incredible and none of the other weeks even came close. I had such high hopes as we got going, but we ended up just slogging through the other weeks to finish it up!
