Information from the 1970's a little behind the times

I bought this book to on a whim along with "Quirky, yes - Hopeless, no" (Excellent book) and I've found that, #1 it is geared mainly towards parents of autistic children and #2 is it from the 1970's so there has been much advancement on the syndrome since then and #3 it has no mention of Asperger's or high functioning autism.
There are a couple of positives. The chapters are succinct and it is good at explaining the origins of Autism.
If you're curious about what the view was on Autism about 30 years after it was discovered then I would definitely suggest this book.
