What an inspiring read!!

The Gift of Love by Amy Clipston is powerful in this book of her biography/memoir. I was caught up in the story from the start as Amy grabbed my attention with being sandwiched between two semi trucks in an accident. Her guardian angel was watching out for Amy and had a purpose for sparing her life.
Amy goes back to her childhood, meeting the love of her life and other events that created a beautiful story of a lady who knows where her strength, love, hope, peace, joy and help comes from at all times with her source being in her Savior Jesus Christ. I appreciate Amy being open about her feelings and thoughts as so many Christians want to sugarcoat their true emotions and thinking pattern. Amy give readers full detail of Joseph Clipston's health issues, struggles and eventually being paired for a kidney swap at John Hopkins Hospital. Amy's determination to save her husband's life showed true sacrificial love just as her Savior had shown her. Readers will be encouraged, strengthen, and inspired to love their spouse and others unconditionally at all times no matter the circumstance.
Amy ended the book with encouraging others to be an organ and blood donor. I'm glad I can say I'm a regular blood donor and have already sign to be an organ donor. I appreciate Amy sharing your story openly to the public. God bless you, Joe, Zachary, Matthew and your mothers along with your paired kidney swap couple with many years of health, happiness and the blessings of God.

I read this in one afternoon - I couldn't put it down!

I could not put this book down today. I finished it this afternoon, completely drawn into the story and the incredible work of God in this family's lives!
A Gift of Love: One Woman's Journey to Save a Life by Amy Clipston is the story of her husband's terrible battle with kidney failure and two transplants. She is a gifted writer and it was apparent throughout the entire book. She weaved in relevant parts of their history while still maintaining the direction of the story - the road to transplant. I felt like I was right there with her through it all because of her writing style.
I was struck by her honesty about the struggles that they endured emotionally, as a family and as a couple. Going through kidney failure and dialysis took a toll on her husband and she was left to provide for their family and to deal with all of the accompanying stress. I loved that she was real and didn't try to make herself appear to be a saint - she handled things like any one of us would! It gives me hope that if I (God forbid) am ever faced with this kind of a situation, that I will rely on the Lord as she did and come out stronger in the end.
This book reminded me of the importance of being an organ donor, and I'm so glad that I am.
This is definitely worth the read. What a beautiful story of God's healing in unique ways!

Wonderful Book

I am a huge fan of Amy Clipston's books. I have followed her on Facebook for a few years now and knew that they had done a kidney "swap". I was so excited when she announced that she was writing a book about their journey!! I read this book in record time (for me). I couldn't put this book down. Thank you for sharing your story.
